PS5 owners will see the first software update for their system since launching in November last year. Hideaki Nishino Senior Vice President, Platform Planning & Management announced on the official PlayStation blog. The update is expected to go live tomorrow globally April 14, 2021 and contain new features and improvements.
The new features and improvements as follows:
- PS5 Storage Expansion and Management
- Store PS5 games on compatible external USB drives
- New Social Features for PS4 and PS5 Consoles
- Cross-generation Share Play
- Request to Join Game Session
- Enhanced Control and Personalization Options for PS5 Consoles
- Disable Game Chat or Adjust Players’ Volume
- Game Update Pre-download
- Customize Game Library
- Screen Zoom
- New Trophy Settings and Stats Screen
- New Features for PlayStation App
